Show Notes

Written by Rebecca Dameron (A supervising Producer on the whos who also wrote episodes of The Following) and directed by Guy Ferland (Directed of Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, Homeland and three episodes of The Torchwood series Miracle Day).

After assassins attack Wayne Manor looking for Selina Kyle, Cat and Bruce are forced to go on the run into the dark and seedy underbelly of Gotham. While Alfred works with Detective Harvey Bullock to track down the heir to the Wayne family fortune, Jim Gordon follows another lead to the man he believes is responsible for the attack, Dick Lovecraft. All the while Falcone is trying to root out a mole…or is it a Fish…or is it a Penguin in his organisation after the loss of all his money. As Bruce and Alfred are reunited and Cat is safe from harm (for now) the partnership of Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock is broken up by a spiteful and vengeful mayor James Aubrey. The GCPD, Arkham and Gotham will never be the same again!

If you haven’t caught it yet we have released a brand new live interview with Victoria Cartagena and Andrew Stewart-Jones. It’s an hour long interview with lots of fun tidbits and behind the scenes insight into Gotham’s MCU.

Victoria Cartagena and Erin Richard’s characters Renee and Barbara have been nominated for an AfterEllen.com award for best lesbian couple on TV vote at afterellen.com.

Channel 5 have advised us that the release date for the next episode of Gotham has yet to be decided in the UK. We will update as soon as we have confirmation of the date. The release date of the pilot for Season 1 was only announced two weeks before it aired in the UK so we hope to have a confirmed announcement in early 2015.

DC Connected News

Syfy are developing a Superman prequel TV series ‘Krypton’ written by Man of Steel writer and Constantine Showrunner David S. Goyer. The pitch is “Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”

Thanks for listening we’ll be on break for the Christmas period and will return in the New Year when Gotham returns to Channel 5 in the UK for the second half of season 1.

Show Notes

Written by Ken Woodruff (Episode 4 – Arkham) and directed by Karen Gaviola (Directed episodes of CSI, Criminal Minds, Prison Break).

As a mentally ill patient, Ian Hargrove, is transferred from Blackgate penitentiary for treatment he is kidnapped by Russian mobsters. Under the guidance of Fish Mooney the mobsters are using the former vigilante to complete a plan to steal money from Carmine Falcone. Meanwhile Selina Kyle has returned and finally gives more details to the identity of the Wayne Family murderer. Because of her knowledge Cat is sent to Wayne Manor for her protection. Armed with Selina’s sketch Jim Gordon approaches a young slightly unbalanced Assistant District Attorney Harvey Dent for help. Dent is convinced that the sketch ties billionaire businessman Dick Lovecraft into the investigation. All the while Jim and Barbara are drifting further and further apart.

Who is Ian Hargrove? Whilst his name doesn’t seem to feature in DC Comics his preferred method of destruction is familiar and could be linked to the villain called the Destroyer who blows up old buildings for the sake of artistic expression.

⦁    We will be interviewing Detectives Renee Montoya (Victoria Cartagena) and Crispus Allen (Andrew Stewart-Jones) with our friends from Legends of Gotham on Thursday 11th December 2014 at 8pm EST for the USA and Canada or Friday 12th December at 1am GMT for Ireland and the UK. ⦁    A pilot for the Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon comic series Preacher has been ordered by AMC. The Vertigo comic is about a southern preacher, Reverand Jesse Custe, accidentally possessed by a supernatural creature, who travels across the United States trying to find God! The pilot is being put together by Breaking Bad’s with Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg who directed This is the End and Superbad. It sounds like a mix of Constantine and the Walking Dead and we’re definitely interested.

⦁    Rumours are out that Frank Miller is doing a second sequel to his infamous Dark Knight Returns mini-series from 1986. Given that Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has definitely taken inspiration from Frank Miller’s version it sounds like good timing. Frank Miller is set to work on the story, focusing on Cary Kelly the female Robin from the original mini-series, with current Batman writer Scott Snyder. There are no confirmed artists yet for the book but Jim Lee and Greg Capullo are already being name dropped as part of a group of rotating artists taking on different issues.

⦁    We discussed it a few weeks ago but the cast of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad has now been confirmed.

i.    Jared Leto as The Joker
ii.    Will Smith as Deadshot
iii.    Tom Hardy as Rick Flag
iv.    Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
v.    Jai Courtney as Boomerang
vi.    Cara Delevingne as Enchantress

Thanks for listening we’ll be back next week with the final episode of this half of season one “Lovecraft”.
