Synopsis for Gotham Season 3 Episode 21 Review Destiny Calling Podcast
Directed by: Nathan Hope
Written by: Danny Cannon
Gotham City is in turmoil and so is Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). As the Tetch virus rages in the people of Gotham, so too it rages through Jim Gordon’s veins as he desperately tries to control his deepest darkest obsession. Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) still has faith in his partner and at the G.C.P.D. he keeps him investigating as they, along with Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), try to discover more from Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) about the Court and the Shaman. However, there is hope as word of an antidote designed by Professor Hugo Strange (BD Wong) based on the blood of Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel) reaches them. Several competing factions, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Gordon and Bullock, and a new shadowy organisation race to capture Strange and his vials of antidote. As the different groups confront one another Fish is killed by Jim in front of Oswald and the antidote vials are smashed. Now their only hope is to secure Tetch at Arkham Asylum, but he is snatched up by Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell), Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) and Barbara as the Riddler tries to once again kill Oswald. During the riots Bruce manages to escape his cell and sets out to find the Demon’s Head, followed by Alfred. Bruce finally finds the building to discover the League of Shadows guarding the Lazarus Pit with a man waiting for him, who introduces himself as the “Demon’s Head”: Ra’s al Ghul (Alexander Siddig). Alfred attempts to rescue a resistant Bruce but is captured giving Ra’s the opportunity to allow Bruce to prove his worth by killing Alfred. Alfred’s pleas to Bruce are met with the sharp end of a sword.
