As the internet exploded all around the Warner Bros. Pictures panel delivered. To introduce their panel a short and sweet (the film is 2-years away) Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice tease on a number of fronts was given to Hall H at SDCC 2014. As Zack Snyder walked on to stage he revealed concept artwork for the movie and a short piece of footage depicting Batman as he reveals the Bat Signal. The footage also reveals an angry looking Superman looking on as he flies overhead his eyes begin to glow red with heat vision…ready for a Batman Superman showdown. Snyder was then joined by the reunited team of Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and for the first time Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) to huge excitement and much applause. What a way to kick off a panel. Check out the Silver Lasso on her left hip.

I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with her tiara. I actually like the mini-skirt/loin cloth; It’s a decent compromise between the swimsuit look and longer skirt. I hate the lack of color in the promo images for this movie. I’m hoping that’s just a result of the bleak surroundings rather than the finished color scheme. I’m not seeing any red or blue here, but it could be that her outfit is strictly a product of her Amazon roots at this point and she hasn’t adopted the American flag colors yet. I wish she didn’t have high heels, but unfortunately it’s expected. I’d really like a closer look at her silver bracelets (gauntlets?) and that tiara. Overall, she looks alright and it’s too early to judge any further out of context with the movie. Honestly the sparks in this picture bug me more than anything related to her outfit. Sooo many character posters and images include sparks nowadays. It’s really cliche and unimaginative.
Looking at the backdrop I think Wonder Woman is in a still broken Metropolis. So the sparks in this case probably make a bit more sense. Gal Gadot definitely looks like she could face down Batman and Superman here.
I really like the silver lasso it’ll probably turn gold when she’s interrogating Clark about why he destroyed Metropolis to kill one enemy.
Thanks for the comments.
