Alfred Pennyworth is tried and sentenced for the murder of his former army Captain, but he refuses to give up Bet Sykes as he becomes a resident at Her Majesty’s pleasure, locked up at New Gate Prison.

Outside the tall prison walls, the streets of England descend into anarchy with the return of Lord Harwood and the Prime Minister makes a high stakes gamble as he announces a general election. Both the Raven Society and the No Name League look to secure an electoral pact and agree to meet to seal their deal.

Meanwhile Harwood and Frances Gaunt realise that they need the backing of the Queen as Duke and Duchess Windermere become an increasingly frightful nightmare for the Raven Society. Back in prison, Alfred is hired by Inspector Aziz to kill the leaders of the Raven Society and No Name League at their historic meeting as the two radical groups make inroads during the election campaign.

Somewhere in a field in England, Alfred puts the leaders of the Raven Society and No Name League in his cross hairs. But as he gets ready to shoot he sees his former employers, Thomas Wayne and Martha Kane, both sent to represent the No Name League.

As sniper Alfred, purposely misses his targets, he disrupts the government’s plans allowing Harwood, Thomas and Martha to escape. Somewhere in a forest in England, another momentous event happens as her Royal Highness meets the Syke sisters!

After letting Captain Curzon, the killer of his former fiance Esme, escape, Alfred Pennyworth is determined to find him! Primed with new information about a couple entering the apartment from Bet Sykes, who is also looking to avenge Esme’s murder, Alfred investigates the police as he questions Detective Inspector Aziz.

While promising to help, Aziz sets a trap for Alfred as Curzon’s father uses his position in high society and the influence of the Prime Minister to bury the facts, protect his son and keep Alfred permanently quiet. Armed and ready Alfred walks knowingly into the trap. With his gun pointed at Curzon’s head he is saved from the armed police ready to fire by Bet Sykes who holds a knife to Aziz’s throat.

With Bet antagonising Curzon, Alfred releases his rage and shoots both Curzon and his wet nurse in the head. Meanwhile, with tensions running high across England and Her Majesty’s government on high alert the Raven Society organise a rally.

As Frances Gaunt finishes her speech she resigns to reveal Lord Harwood who assumes leadership of the society once again. As the Prime Minister watches events unfold at the rally on TV he blows a gasket in his office in 10 Downing Street as he realises Harwood remains a threat.

The next day the papers are in awe of Lord Harwood and Alfred finds himself again at the end of a gun barrel as the police close in to arrest him!

While Lord Harwood and Peggy Sykes reconnect with the Raven Society and its interim leader Frances Gaunt, Harwood promises her that a revolution is coming to England as he waits to reveal himself.

Also lurking in the shadows is the satanist Aleister Crowley who is confronted by Martha Kane and Thomas Wayne as they try to find Patricia and seek answers to Martha’s party night and missing days!

While Patricia is safe, Crowley wants Wayne’s soul for his master but while Thomas finds everything far-fetched he will do anything for the return of Patricia and wants to meet Crowley’s master. But after Thomas releases his inner demons on Jason Ripper and meeting the inner devil in a pale lamp-lit cellar they are free to leave!

Meanwhile, Alfred and the lads track down the identity of a wanted killer and an unexpected team up is on the cards for Alfred after Captain Curzon manages to give him and Bet Sykes the slip!.

With Julian Thwaites dead Alfred Pennyworth asks John Ripper for the person who killed Esme only to be sent to Bethlehem (Hospital) and to a witch named Baroness Ortzy. Alfred must bring a left hand of a murderer and a rose at the time of a full moon. Alfred leaves calling her a nutter.

Up North and still at the kinky Spicer’s, Lord Harwood remembers and he must kill those who have done him harm. Armed with Peggy and Bet Sykes he returns to London. Someone else returns to the chaotic streets London, Patricia Wayne and she is ready to PARTY!

After being asked to babysit Patricia by her brother Thomas, Martha Kane and Patricia attend a debauched party with famed occultist Alister Crowley. Tripping and hallucinating, and missing for two-days Martha wakes up naked under a dead tree with no sign of Patricia or a party.

Strange things also happen to Alfred as he finds himself in the possession of a severed left hand and a rose during a full moon. Back in Bethlehem with something strange in his tea Alfred hallucinates and discovers his ex-army Captain, John Fitzsmyth Curzon, to be behind the murder of Esme. But at Captain Curzon’s home Alfred, Dave-Boy and Bazza discover he is one step ahead of them … Catch Me If You Can Boys!

On a London street, Lord Harwood’s fate takes a curious turn as he is rescued by Bet and Peggy Sykes and begins his rehabilitation back at the Spicer’s semi-detached.

Months later, the streets of England are in turmoil as the gang war rages between the Ravens Society and the No-Name League. As the opposing factions look set to meet and hammer out a truce, a new assignment is on the cards for Martha Kane and Alfred Pennyworth.

But Alfred, still in turmoil following Esme’s funeral, turns the work down. Thomas Wayne is forced to look elsewhere, turning to Davy Boy to help murder Frances Gaunt the leader of the Raven Society.

Still wallowing in guilt and grief at his parents house, Alfred appears rudderless until John Ripper presents Alfred with an offer of another job that if completed will help to expose the murderer of Esme.

At a fine restaurant Frances Gaunt meets the leaders of the No-Name league Julian and Undine Thwaite. Midway through starters Davy Boy attempts his assassination but is shot by his intended target. Bleeding out on the floor another assassin comes for Frances Gaunt. As Alfred unmasks himself he rescues Davy-Boy before killing his target Julian Thwaite.

The next morning the world has turned, Frances is still alive, Undine Thwaite wakes up next to John Ripper having betrayed her husband, and Alfred has had more than a pint at the Severed Arms pub.

The noseless, Lord Harwood, bruised, battered and broken scrounges the streets of London after his run in with The Barber, but is adopted by an artful dodger.

Meanwhile, still afraid of the big bad Bet Sykes, Esme shacks up with Alfred’s parents to stay safe as Alfred and his new employer, Martha Kane, take a train ride into the countryside.

Up North, a restless Bet Sykes has had enough of her sister’s clientele and candlesticks and heads back to London to return from the dead and reunite with Esme.

On assignment Alfred and Martha have a run-in with the unfriendly villagers and maypole dancers of Borton Wassett who try and stop them from discovering the identity of the new leader of the Raven Society, who turns out to be masquerading as a doctor at the local hospital.

Having obtained their Intel, Alfred and Martha head back to London where they exchange a kiss and further tragedy strikes for Alfred at his and Esme’s new home.

Alfred Pennyworth and Esme’s engagement is over after a bad meeting with Esme’s father who threatens to disinherit her if low-standing Alfred attempts to marry his daughter. Later that night at The Severed Arms bar Alfred is approached by a lady called Martha Kane who offers him an assignment. Elsewhere another meeting ends badly as Lord Harwood meets the Barber who tortures and removes his nose. After breaking him he is tossed onto the street, dazed, dirty and destroyed.

The next day Alfred picks up Martha and is told that the job is to assist in her rescue of a prized and persecuted scientist Ian Thurso. He has developed a highly advanced computational machine and the Raven Society want it. As they release him from the local police station they head to a disused US Air Force base to fly Ian and his boyfriend Sam to safety. But as the assignment becomes increasingly dangerous and Alfred is told Martha is working for the No Name Society, he must use his quick wits to save Ian from the Raven Society.

As Martha promises more work for Alfred, he and Esme attempt to make a fresh start in their own apartment. Somewhere in Northern England laying low from the law, a fidgety Bet Sykes wants to make it back down to London to also attempt a fresh start with Esme!

Pennyworth Episode 2 Synopsis

After the arrest of Lord Harwood and Betty Sykes, Alfred Pennyworth is approached back at the club by a grateful Thomas Wayne. He offers Alfred a job for his nascent security business. However, Alfred turns down the offer from the billionaire businessman, because the company he keeps almost had him and Esme killed!

At the Tower of London, the detained Lord Harwood is tortured and interrogated to find out who leads the Raven Society but with limited success. Elsewhere in the Tower, Bet Sykes has a different kind of interrogation by George one of her guards who is tricked into delivering her post. But while she hatches her plan to escape from the Tower, her infatuation with Esme continues as one of her letters makes its way to Esme’s apartment…kiss, kiss…kiss.

In Whitechapel, Alfred has accepted a new job from the landlord of the Severed Arms pub whose daughter is being harassed by the creepy and possessive Jason Ripper. As Alfred, Davy-Boy and Bazza set to work on Jason this new assignment puts Alfred firmly in the sights of Jason’s Uncle, the notorious Ripper of the East-end. But the Ripper is  persuaded by Alfred to give him the benefit of the doubt by showing that his nephew was a weak link in his crime organisation.

With the Pennyworth family back home sat around the telly with a nice cuppa, Alfred makes sure that Bet is executed at the Tower. But all Bets are off as Peggy Sykes comes to free her younger sister from the hangman’s noose.

Alfred Pennyworth is just out of the army. He’s still living with his parents and still dealing with the trauma of army life with his army mates Davy-boy and Bazza.

In the wider country opposing factions are threatening the stability and authority of the British Government. On the left the No-Name Society seeking a socialist utopia and on the right the Raven Society looking to establish a facist utopia.

Somewhere in the middle Alfred is keen to start his own security firm as he starts his first job as a bouncer at a Soho club. His first night is eventful. He meets an American, named Thomas Wayne, who after protecting his sister Practicia, exchanges his business details to expand his security enterprise.

Alfred also meets Esme Winikus, a dancing girl and actress, who he forms a romance with. However, his brief connection with Wayne becomes perilous as it tangles Alfred and a reluctant Esme into close contact with the Raven Society and their enforcer the mysteriously violent lady Bet Sykes.

Gotham Finale Review of 512 “The Beginning…” Synopsis

As a more portly Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) prepares to leave Blackgate Prison after ten years, strange things begin to take place in Gotham on the eve of the return of Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) for the opening of the new Wayne Towers. Many of Gotham’s residents are waiting for Bruce to return including Selina Kyle (played by Lili Simmons), who is still disappointed she was left behind. Whispers are abound of a dark menace blighting the criminal underworld, while the G.C.P.D. are unable to trace missing US military supplies.

As the day arrives and Penguin walks free more offbeat moments ensue as the Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) is busted out of Arkham Asylum and a shaken Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) is framed for the murder of an Arkham guard.

As Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) begins to piece together the evidence helped by an unknown figure in black, a sinister plot targeting the city of Gotham and Wayne Towers is revealed to be masterminded by Jeremiah
Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), or is that Jack, Joseph, John or Mr Jay. As Jim prepares to face the disfigured Jeremiah at ACE Chemicals a new figure emerges to be the hero that Gotham needs.

Nyssa al Ghul (Jaime Murray) enacts her final plan for the destruction of Gotham as the army, led by Bane (Shane West), is sent in to destroy the G.C.P.D’s safe zone.

As Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) rallies his allies, former wives and former enemies to save the city, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) with the help of Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) must resort to extreme measures to delay the Bane and his army as he destroys Wayne Enterprises.

Meanwhile, Nyssa kidnaps Barbara’s newborn daughter with ambitions to raise her as her own, but is thwarted by Jim and Barbara (Erin Richards) who run Nyssa through with that knife. As the final battle unfolds the people of Gotham rally behind Jim and the G.C.P.D. and face down Bane.

In the aftermath of the battle for Gotham, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) promise to once again control Gotham, Jim is appointed Commissioner, Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) begins the plans to rebuild both Wayne Manor and Wayne Enterprises. In the final moments Selina races to catch Bruce Wayne, as he decides leaves Gotham to embrace his destiny.

After being lost by his mother at a carnival as a child Young Billy Batson has passed through many foster families in his Philadelphia hometown. All this time Dr. Thaddeus Sivana has been trying to find a way back to the temple of an ancient wizard Shazam who denied him the powers of a hero as a child. When he discovers the way through he embodies the abilities of the evil 7 deadly sins.  Meanwhile, after defending his new foster brother Freddy from bullies at his new school, Billy goes on the run again. His getaway on the train is interrupted by the ancient wizard who transfers all the powers of SHAZAM to Billy. He’s imbued with these powers by shouting the name of this hero SHAZAM! With the help of Freddy, Billy must learn to control these new abilities and his place in the world so he can save it from Dr. Sivana and the 7 deadly sins.

Gotham 510 Review “I Am Bane” Synopsis

With the arrival of General Wade (John Bedford Lloyd) Gotham is on the brink of reunification. Elsewhere, Barbara (Erin Richards) must postpone her trip off Gotham with Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) as her contractions begin she turns to Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) for help.

But as the good news is delivered to Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the reunification of Gotham can now begin, Jim and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) find themselves face-to-face with a transformed Eduardo. Bane (Shane West) kidnaps Bruce, Jim and General Wade and are brought before Walker who reveals herself as Nyssa Al Ghul (Jaime Murray), the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul. As Nyssa plans her revenge sending Bane after Barbara Kean, Professor Hugo Strange (BD Wong) turns his attention towards Jim and the Bane process. However, as the venom hits Jim’s veins he manages to escape. At the same time Bruce also manages to thwart their captor and along with Wade they escape back to the General’s headquarters.

At the hospital, as Barbara gives birth to her new born daughter Bane attempts to capture her but is stopped by Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) and Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), but Alfred is seriously injured as Bane appears to break his back.

Jim, Bruce and the General return to the military HQ. As the good news filters through that Jim is a dad, a chipped General Wade executes Nyssa’s plan and confirms executive Order 386, the destruction of Gotham!

Attempting to establish a ceasefire as supplies in Gotham become critical, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is shot. Rushed to the G.C.P.D, Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) operates on him to stem his blood loss, but Jim passes out and begins to hallucinate. His dream like state soon turns into a nightmare as Jim Gordon’s life, decisions and failures are put on trial all while he bleeds out.

Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) discovers that a lovesick Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan) was the perpetrator who shot Jim Gordon while under the influence of Poison Ivy (Peyton List). Ivy’s roots extend beyond killing Jim as she also places her spell on Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) to target the drinking water supplies all in an attempt to prevent the reunification with the mainland and to rebuild Gotham with her plants.

Meanwhile, as Barbara (Erin Richards) and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) consider their next moves, Lee has a life-changing moment as she saves Jim from another attempt on his life by Ivy. As Jim awakes from his hallucination and recovers from his wounds he makes the decision to live for Lee and his unborn child.

After one month passes, James Gordon and Leslie Thompkins are finally married by Harvey Bullock in the G.C.P.D. Precinct…and everyone lives happily ever after…but this is Gotham and as the two love-birds wed, Barbara secretly makes an important decision about her child.

Gotham 508 Review “Nothing’s Shocking” Synopsis

Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) ‘s past comes back to haunt him when two former G.C.P.D. officers are murdered at the Sirens Club. With information from Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) discovers that a shape-shifting Indian Hill escapee called “Jane Doe” is behind the killings. Brought in to the Precinct she escapes and murders Bullock’s former partner Detective Dix (Dan Hedaya).

As Harvey take matters into his own hands his partnership with Jim becomes strained as he confesses that he and the victims unethically forced Jane, formerly “Jane Cartwright” (Sarah Pidgeon), to incriminate her mother for killing her abusive father.

Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) explore the tunnels beneath the city as they attempt to track down the missing husband of an injured woman. But “if you go down to the sewers tonight you sure of a big surprise” as they rescue the woman’s husband they discover a severely disfigured and immensely powerful hybrid-human who was affected by Jeremiah’s chemicals.

Elsewhere, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith)’s plans to escape Gotham look like being torpedoed by Cobblepot’s former accountant Arthur Penn (Andrew Sellon). Suffering from a split personality, Penn is embodied by a ventriloquist dummy, Scarface (also Andrew Sellon), resulting in a confrontation with his former boss that leads to the death of Scarface and the the death of one Arthur Penn.
